The Busy Java Developer's Guide to C#

We've all heard about Microsoft's latest contribution to the programming language space, but how hard is it for a Java developer to learn C#, really? In this talk, I'll take you from knowing nothing about C#, to a developer who can claim “C#” as one of your programming languages… in 90 minutes.

C#, the latest entry in the growing list of “C family of languages” was created to be syntactically similar to C++ and its inheritor, Java. As a result, C# is extraordinarily easy for a Java developer to pick up and find basic proficiency in. More importantly, however, C# has a couple of interesting innovations that the Java community may find interesting, potentially even to “leverage” back into a future version of Java. In this talk, we'll bring you from 0-to-competent in the C# language assuming only knowledge of the Java language.
