Simple Ideas for Process Improvement

Agility is a big buzzword these days; unfortunately, so are the 'other' process improvement methodologies that often get the attention of upper management (ISO, RUP, and CMMi to name a few). There are ways to avoid the methodology wars and introduce the ideas that will improve the way you do things.

In this presentation we will take a whirlwind tour through a bunch of different process improvement methodologies, compare and contrast some of the ideas, and find some common threads. We will look at what kinds of things an individual can do to improve things, what you can do with buy-in from your team, and how to get that support.

If you can embrace agile in your workplace, these are the ideas you can hit the ground running with. If not, these are the ideas you can 'wrap' in the other process buzzwords to get support from management, effectively getting your 'process' cake and eating it too.

Bring your real-world problems to this talk, and we'll see if we can figure out a way to deal with them.
