JBoss @ Work: Tips and Tricks

You've been using JBoss for a while, but you scratch your head and ask,
“This is a nice application server, but how do I …?” Or maybe you've worked with
other J2EE servers and you'd like to make your applications work on JBoss. If so,
then this talk is for you.

We'll take a simple J2EE-based web site (using JSPs, Servlets, and EJBs) and iteratively
configure the following:

  • Server Configurations
  • Multiple JBoss instances on the same machine
  • System Properties
  • Data Sources (for database connections)
  • JMS
  • JavaMail
  • SSL
  • Logging
  • Automating JBoss Startup/Shutdown with Ant

We use Ant and XDoclet for deployment.

Intended audience: Experienced JBoss/Java/J2EE developers
