Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Workshop
Looking to be recognized by passing the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) test. This workshop will provide 40% lecture, 60% labs detailing the most challenging parts of the certification. Whether you are taking the exam or not, this sessions provides details on common tasks necessary to be productive with Kubernetes.
Most of this session will focus on skills necessary to be productive on Kubernetes as a developer. We will cover details around the test itself in how to be productive in the short timeframe allowed for the test, such as:
- VI skills and configuration
- Time management skills
- Test prep and what to expect
In addition, this workshop will include practical kubernetes skills such as using the kubernetes generates to quickly create the objects or yamls necessary to perform each task. This workshop will also cover lesser used but test required skills such as:
- Persistence Volumes and Persistence Volume Claims (PVC)
- Deployment Rollback Strategies
- Networking skills
- Intra Pod Contain communication
- Working with ENV, Secrets and ConfigMaps
- Heavy focus on Pod Design
About Ken Sipe
Ken is a distributed application engineer. Ken has worked with Fortune 500 companies to small startups in the roles of developer, designer, application architect and enterprise architect. Ken's current focus is on containers, container orchestration, high scale micro-service design and continuous delivery systems.
Ken is an international speaker on the subject of software engineering speaking at conferences such as JavaOne, JavaZone, Great Indian Developer Summit (GIDS), and The Strange Loop. He is a regular speaker with NFJS where he is best known for his architecture and security hacking talks.
