Architectural Leadership

When most people think about the role of a software architect, they think about the technical aspects of the role - integrating systems, selecting architecture patterns and styles, defining architectural components, choosing the right technology and frameworks, and so on. I maintain that this is only half of what a software architect is responsible for. The other half is being a leader and being able to build effective teams. In this session I will discuss some of the soft skills an architect needs to become an effective leader and create effective and efficient development teams.

Agenda:

  • Defining Architectural Boundaries Through Design Principles
  • Leveraging Checklists
  • Architectural Leadership Skills
