Gunnar Hillert

As a Pivotal engineer, Gunnar Hillert is a core committer for the Spring Integration and Spring XD projects. He has been a member of the Spring team for over 2 years. Gunnar is the president of the Atlanta Java Users Group since 2010 and is co-organizer for the DevNexus developer conference that attracted 900 developers in 2013.

A native of Berlin, Germany, Gunnar has been calling Atlanta home for the past 12 years. He is an avid gardener specializing in anything sub-tropical such as bananas, palm trees and bamboo. As time permits, Gunnar works on his Spanish language skills and he and his wife Alysa are raising their two children tri-lingually (English, German, Spanish).
