Chris Beams

Chris has worked as a developer, architect and project manager for nearly 20 years. He spent much of his time building software in startups and enterprises where he became a passionate early advocate for open source Java. Later, Chris spent seven years working with the Spring development team, where he was responsible for a number of major features including transitioning Spring's primary configuration model from XML to pure Java. He was also largely responsible for the Spring team's early adoption of Gradle, which, years later, helped make joining the Gradle team a natural next step.
