Discussions on Evolutionary Design

Posted by: Venkat Subramaniam on May 25, 2008

I had a great time meeting some of the fine software developers in Bangalore and Mumbai last week.
On Wednesday evening (May 21st), I spoke to the Agile Software Community of India, Bangalore chapter (thanks to the good folks at Binary Essentials for sponsoring that event) and on yesterday (May 24th), I spoke at their Mumbai chapter (thanks to the kind folks at Directi for sponsoring that event).

The topic of discussion was on Evolutionary Design. There were several good questions in Bangalore, and quite a few intense discussions in Mumbai. Overall, I was very impressed at the desire of the attendees to learn and share their knowledge (we did not clear the room until 11:30PM on Wednesday and I was literally dragged out yesterday to avoid missing my flight).

Good design is critical to agile development. I briefly talk about that here. You can view the slides from my site download page. I will be fine turning that talk further for my presentation at the Agile IT in Reston, coming up in a few weeks.
