Groovy gets well deserved support

Posted by: Venkat Subramaniam on December 21, 2006

Groovy is a very elegant language that brings the strengths of languages like Ruby, Python, Smalltalk,... to the JVM.
I have used it and given talks about it for a while now.

Groovy development has gone through ups and downs over the past four years. When developing a language is what
you do (as an individual or as a community), in addition to your other responsibilities, this is quite understandable.

It would be great if a passionate developer can be paid to do what he is capable of, so he can focus on getting it done.

The good news, in that form, arrived for Groovy (see this eweek news). I am very glad that Big Sky Technology (the
creator of the No Fluff Just Stuff symposium) will be supporting Jochen Theodorou (blackdrag), a chief Groovy contributor.

I guess I should say: Congratulations to the Groovy community and supporters.
