A silly prank. - No Fluff Just Stuff

A silly prank.

Posted by: Venkat Subramaniam on April 19, 2006

A couple of weeks ago we cancelled a course. Well, it was time to be back at the same organization
teaching for another set of people. Most folks in this class took the contents fairly well. They were
inquisitive about the material, said it was quite a paradigm shift from what they?re used to.

Towards the end of the five days course - about 3 hours to finish - we decided to pull a prank. One of the
attendees asked the manager (who organized this course and the one that got cancelled) to come down
to the training room. The attendees announced that the class is not going well and would like to cancel it.
The manager looked troubled, mentioned that it was the last day, and asked if everyone in the class agreed it
was not worth staying for the rest of the sessions. Everyone put a sorry face and gave their grim opinion.
The manager then sat down, thinking why things have gone wrong so bad, again - and asked for some explanation.
Slowly one of the attendees decided to add a comment ? ?We?re just kidding.?

The manager screamed at us, ?I?ll get you, each one of you.? It?s nice to see a team that has a good sense
of humor. The team was very interactive. They had questions for me outside the class as well. As far as the
course that got cancelled, we?re discussing what we can do for that group of developers, what'll fit their
specific needs?
