Denver Adventure - No Fluff Just Stuff

Denver Adventure

Posted by: Venkat Subramaniam on March 9, 2006

Sometimes it's easier to be lost farther away than nearby. My brother and I started out at 3:30PM for the
6PM talk in Denver, given the general slow traffic conditions and the added snowy afternoon weather.
We covered all by 10 miles in about an hour. The next 10 miles took about as much. By the time we
exited the freeway, it was about 5:45PM. The venue was less than five minutes from the exit, but we got lot.
I got on the phone with a few people until Chris, the president of Denver JUG, came on the phone asking
?Tell me where you are.? He did a yeoman job of drawing a mental map of the place, patently working with me
as we took wrong turns, until finally he said, ?Park on the spot on your left and I am the guy behind you in blue shirt.?

That was quite an adventure. My apologies to the folks waiting at the JUG for the 20 minutes delayed
start. They were very patent and courteous. We started around 6:20PM for my first talk on AOP. We started
my second talk on Rule Engines around 7:30PM and ended 8:45-ish.

There was good attendance. I did not count the number of people, but I suspect we had 70+. The
interaction at the talks were very good?some really good questions and discussions from the bright
developers. I look forward to meeting them again in May at the Rocky Mountain Software Symposium.
