Boulder JUG visit - No Fluff Just Stuff

Boulder JUG visit

Posted by: Venkat Subramaniam on March 10, 2006

I?ve always enjoyed talking to Scott ?GPS? Davis on the road. I also had the pleasure of attending his
excellent talk on web techniques last year. Scott was the host at the Boulder JUG last night and it
was interesting to hear him again, this time promoting NFJS ? the sponsor of the meeting, and about
the group activities.

Scott?s been giving me a hard time for my delay at the Denver JUG the previous day ? he said that
Car-ma has caught up with me and I need to be embarrassed in front of all these people for giving him a
hard time two weeks ago at the Milwaukee show. I was not going to let that happen again at Boulder, so
arrived there quite early.

We started around 6PM. My first talk was on Groovy and then I gave another talk on Open Source Tools
for Agile Development. We wrapped up around 9PM.

Both the sessions were well attended, with over 55 developers. There were a number of darn good
questions on both the topics. It was a lot of fun being there. I even got the pleasure of meeting one of the
reviewers of the PaD book.

I took the red eye to Boston for the NFJS event? I barely made the connection in Newark, but my luggage
didn?t make it. Who cares, I?ve got the laptop, and that is all counts. :)
