Wow is the word I had for the third and final class for the year in India. This course
was in Mumbai.
You get a taste for how the class is going to be within the first few minutes of the
course... and
this one was great!
The group made up of some of the smartest people I have seen during this trip. They
were not only
interested in learning, they were also not willing to readily accept everything said,
and they had no
problem expressing their views or asking questions. That makes for a superb interaction
and the rest
of the week was great.
Being a course on (Agile) software development practices, we discussed a number of
practices, how
things will work, what is needed, what could be challenges. A lot of it has to do
with more than coding-
it has to do with how, we as humans, behave, what we do, and how we get along. In
class, during lunch,
and after class until late into evening I had opportunity to discuss various things,
software development,
technology, life, religion, culture, education, and much more. I was impressed with
each one I interacted
with, to see their passion and perspectives.
There were several exciting moments during the course. The team had a great sense
of humor, were
quick in grasping ideas, were willing to participate in discussions, had some profound
questions to ask,
and were also interested to bring up other non-course related questions during breaks
for discussions
and input.
Too bad the week had to end! I had so much fun working with this group. I have no
doubt that this group
will apply the concepts learnt from the course right away, they are already on their
way to being agile...
