What a nice way to end the year!
As I finished my Agile Software Development Practices course at 5:30PM on Friday December 30, 2005, everyone in the class except one attendee left. The gentleman who stood behind asked me a few questions, as I later learnt, in an effort to keep me in the room. A few minutes later, the entire team along with their manager Sushil walked back in. Sushil was very generous in mentioning the feedback he had gotten from each member of the team and said the team decided to buy me a gift and handed a gift wrapped bag, advising me not to open the well packed item until I got home. Each member of the team took time to shake hands and say nice words. On the right, gift the Mumbai Invensys Team gave me on 12/30/2005. |

Vinil, one of the developers with whom I had a chance to discuss about
a few things beyond being agile, was very kind to hand me a copy of Richard Back's
Jonathan Livingston Seagull, one of the inspiring books he had mentioned earlier in the week.
I was speechless for a few minutes at this act of kindness. I mentioned that I am very happy to receive their gift, but the best gift I could receive as an instructor is to have attendees who are genuinely interested, who are interactive, at times not readily accepting the concepts, and above all, truly passionate about what they do. In this regard, being there itself was the present-I thank them for giving me an opportunity to be part of their learning experience. |
