Speaking again - No Fluff Just Stuff

Speaking again

Posted by: Craig Walls on July 11, 2007

I've been so busy working on Spring in Action, 2E that I haven't spoken at a user group or conference in a very long time. But today I'm excited to announce that I'll be getting back behind the podium (figuratively speaking--I usually don't use a podium) and will be speaking at the Dallas Spring User Group one week from today (July 18th). I'll be presenting a dozen or so tips on how to reduce or (in some cases) eliminate XML from Spring configuration.

To be honest, the topic started out as a "filler" presentation for No-Fluff/Just-Stuff...just another topic to round out a list of other more interesting topics. But as I have prepared for it, I am finding it to be a very interesting and timely topic. A lot of people equate Spring with XML and equate XML with evil...therefore concluding that Spring is evil. I'm hoping to break that perception with this talk.

If you're in Dallas next Wednesday night and have the time on your hands, stop by Nerdbooks and say hi. If you can't make it, then maybe you'll be able to catch the same talk on a NFJS stop later this fall. I'm already scheduled for the St. Louis show at the end of September and Jay tells me that I'll be scheduled for a few more shows this fall as well.
