The second edition of DevoxxUK took place early this month, June 12nd - 13th. There was lot of buzz about Java8 and other Java related topics. Roy van Rijn created a video that summarizes the vibe during the conference.

Of of the many things that you could do at DevoxxUK there was again Hackergarten. We had a nice place at the mezzanine level where people met to share ideas and hack some code. Amongst people present you could find Java Champions, JavaOne Rockstars, JSR Spec leads, as witnessed by the following tweets

But also lots of discussions and feedback regarding JSR 354 (JavaMoney) and JSR 347 (BigData). As a matter of fact @PeterLawrey spent most of his time hacking and chatting with people at the Hackergarten! There you have it, Hackergarten sessions present a great opportunity to meet the experts, have a face-to-face conversation with project leads, give feedback and hack some code elbow to elbow with like minded people. Make sure to reserve a few hours of your time the next opportunity you see a Hackergarten session scheduled at a conference, you won't be disappointed.
Oh, and by the way, Hackergarten will return to JavaOne and Devoxx later this year :D
