Jake works with a small team to build focused open source libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Moshi, and others which are the foundations on which Square's Android apps are built. He's been living with a severe allergy to boilerplate code and bad APIs for years and speaks at conferences all around the world in an effort to educate more about this terrible disease.

From last year's announcement that Gradle would support it as a build language, to its adoption on large platforms like Android and Spring, to its general applicability for writing IDE and build system plugins, it's hard to find an area that isn't adopting the language in some form.
