When using embedded browsers to render interfaces in a desktop application, many familiar patterns and practices come into play but new considerations arise as well. Learn about Issues, pitfalls, technical hurdles of building and deploying
desktop applications that utilize an embedded browser for the UI.
This presentation will cover some of the unique advantages and disadvantages encountered when creating a rich client interface within an embedded browser environment. The object model for UI components and communication layer are in many ways similar to common AJAX patterns but also have their own uniqueness. Common GUI patterns from non-javascript frameworks such as Observer and Command become prominent.

Javascript enthusiast
Nate Grover has spent nearly a decade building rich, dynamic web interfaces, including Ajax-style components on platforms where it should not have been attempted but somehow they worked anyway. In 2004 he founded his own consultancy Simple Dynamics, specializing in building rich-client interfaces.
