JSON: The X in Ajax
The Ajax Experience
Boston · October 23 - 25, 2006
About this Presentation
JSON is a universal data format. It provides an uncommonly effective bridge for moving data between systems and between languages. It is rendering the X in AJAX superfluous. JSON is also really simple. Bonus: A Solution to the Mashup Security Problem.
JSON is a minimal portable subset of JavaScript. It represents the data structures and types which are common to virtually all programming languages, so data can be moved from one language to another without radical transformation.
This talk will spend several seconds to fully explain the entire JSON language. There will also be a look at a new JSON solution to the Cross Domain Problem.
As currently formulated, mashups only work when there is no private information because DHTML widgets are unable to defend themselves from each other. A solution will be proposed which allows cooperation under mutual suspicion.
