About this Presentation

GWT lets you build Ajax applications in Java. Beyond the gee-whiz factor (or the “huh?” factor, depending on your perspective) of compiling Java to JavaScript, what kind of results can you expect from GWT? Are GWT apps fast? Are GWT apps small? Can you use GWT with existing JavaScript libraries?

We will look under the covers at GWT to see how this unique approach to Ajax can benefit your projects in terms of size, speed, reuse and interop. In particular, we will focus on startup time, RPC speed, bandwidth usage, and how to use GWT's JavaScript Native Interface (JSNI).
