In the past, OpenLaszlo been regarded as a Flash-only tool. In fact, OpenLaszlo Laszlo is a powerful language for rich, custom declarative user interface programming that's been under development for over 5 years. It's a rich, powerful framework, and it has an exciting future as a single (Open
Source) language that can target both the Flash and DHTML runtimes.

In this talk Max will talk about the upcoming plans for OpenLaszlo and how they relate to the Ajax community at large. Learn about the OpenLaszlo code base and how to use and extend it. See an overview of the language, a demo of the current Ajax support, and talk about the future of OpenLaszlo as an
Ajax platform.

Max Carlson

Lead Runtime Architect - OpenLaszlo Group

Max Carlson first began programming at age six, writing his first game in BASIC at age eight. Max currently teaches at the San Francisco Multimedia
Studies Program and is Lead Runtime Architect for the OpenLaszlo group at Laszlo Systems, a San Francisco software company he co-founded five years ago. Before that, he worked for a series of startups and at Excite@Home where he pioneered the use of dynamic Flash content for the broadband portal and worked on DHTML and Flash applications for broadband customers.
